Indianapolis, Indiana Apartments for Rent

Hoops, Festivals in the Heartland

When you move into your new apartment in Indianapolis, you’ll be living at the “Crossroads of America,” as many people often refer to this centrally-located capital of Indiana. You’ll soon see that this city has a lot more to offer than just a great location.

Once you’ve settled into your Indianapolis apartment, you might want to learn more about the history of the area. A good place to start is in the center of town at Monument Circle. Here, you’ll find the 284-foot Soldier’s and Sailor’s Monument – a tribute to the Indiana men who served in the Civil and Spanish-American Wars – and you can admire the Indianapolis skyline from the observation deck on the 32nd floor. Indianapolis is home to many other memorials paying respect to heroes from Indiana and the U.S.

What’s the point of having an apartment in Indianapolis if you don’t check out at least one race while you live there? Besides being known as the Crossroads of America, Indianapolis is also commonly called the “Racing Capital of the World.” The city hosts many races, including two of the largest single-day sporting events in the world: the Indianapolis 500 and the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard. If you’re not already a racing fan, chances are, you will be soon.

Racing isn’t the only great reason to rent an apartment in Indianapolis, though. For more sports, cheer for the local teams at an Indianapolis Colts NFL game or a Pacer’s NBA game. Enjoy a baseball game and an amazing downtown view while supporting the Indianapolis Indians at Victory Field. If you’re a nature lover, visit the Indianapolis Zoo and White River Garden’s where you can explore a zoo featuring close to 4,000 animals, the state’s largest aquarium and beautiful botanical gardens all in one place. Other attractions include downtown’s White River State Park, The Children’s Museum of Indiana, the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art, the Hall of Fame Museum at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and many more.

When you don’t feel like cooking in your new apartment, Indianapolis has a vast array of ethnic choices for dining to suit every appetite or craving. For shopping, peruse large malls like the Circle Centre mall and the upscale Fashion Mall at Keystone Crossing. Stroll down Massachusetts Avenue for shops, galleries and unique restaurants, or seek out Broad Ripple Village for vintage clothes, boutiques and restaurants. Southeast of downtown, you’ll find more than 200 antique dealers in Fountain Square.
